Overview

Say goodbye to stubborn hormonal breakouts with this dermatologist-designed, 3-step skincare routine. Created specifically for adult and teen skin battling hormonal and cystic acne, this complete kit targets deep breakouts, refines texture, and boosts skin clarity—without the dryness or irritation of traditional acne treatments.

Powered by science-backed actives and soothing botanical ingredients, each step works in harmony to fight acne at the root while supporting the skin’s natural barrier.

The kit includes:

Step 1: Hydrating Cleanser (2.0 fl. oz)
A medicated gel cleanser with 0.5% Salicylic Acid that unclogs pores and removes dirt, oil, and makeup—without stripping the skin. Enriched with Aloe Vera and Green Tea to soothe and calm.

Step 2: Retinol Acne Cream (0.5 fl. oz)
Formulated with 0.25% pure Retinol and 2% Niacinamide, this gentle yet effective cream targets hormonal blemishes, uneven skin tone, and fine lines—helping to refine texture and fade acne scars.

Step 3: Active Moisturizer (1.0 fl. oz)
A lightweight, oil-free moisturiser enriched with Niacinamide and botanical extracts to calm redness, hydrate deeply, and reduce post-acne marks—ideal for sensitive or rosacea-prone skin.

This 60-day treatment system is free from harsh additives and designed to restore balance, clarity, and confidence to your skin.

How to Use

Hydrating Cleanser
Wet your face with tepid water (not too hot, not too cold). Gently massage the cleanser over your entire face for 20-30 seconds with clean hands. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a clean towel (do not rub). Recommended for daily use in the morning and evening.

Treatment Cream
Apply your retinol cream at night on clean, dry skin. In the beginning, apply it twice per week, and gradually increase the application frequency. Apply a pea-sized amount to your finger and touch the four areas of your face: forehead, chin, and the two cheeks, avoiding contact with eyes, eyelids, and lips. Always apply sunscreen when outdoors.

Active Moisturizer
Apply a liberal amount to the face each morning to cleansed skin.

Trust the journey
It’s all about the journey and trusting the process. Because the first week I didn’t see much improvement, to be honest I didn’t see improvement until the second week of me using the treatment kit. After using it for about 2 months I thought I add the dark sport treatment cream didn’t see much improvement until week three and I saw that that most of my dark spots was clearing up on my right side. Now I’m at a point where I have enough money to by the sunscreen and I feel like after that I’m really gonna see some good results but I total I’ve been using MDacne for almost 4 months now and it has been an great experience and I’m just here for the journey of clear skin.

MDAcne is worth it - be sure to look beyond the free trial
Curology didn't work for me (I got zero results and my acne actually got worst after a year), and so MDAcne has been so great so far. I am still in the free trial phase and so the customization so far has only been what was recommended by the app's photo-based AI analysis, but once I got my free trial package and started using the products the customization really started. That's when the MDacne dermatologists reached out to me in the app to let me know that they viewed my photos and self reports and re-customized my next package of products to be fine tuned for my skin with new percentages and new types of active ingredients they said are likely to be better suited for my skin than the free trial products (hormonal acne is more the issue for me). The dermatologists are great at reaching out through the chat function in the app to ask for photo updates so they can monitor my skin's progress frequently and make sure my next package of customized products are perfect for my skin. The chat function in the app really takes this service to the next level. I have been able to ask difficult questions about the products on there and get honest "non-salesy" answers about the products. Even when I expressed concern over the potential side effects of the supplements recommended to me they gave me straight up answers for what percent of their customers have reported certain side effects and what they were and did not pressure me at all to go ahead and purchase it anyway. They seem really genuinely interested in getting you the right formulation of products for your skin, without pressuring or aggressive sales tactics. If you are considering MDAcne you should at least try it out, the free trial is only $9, but keep in mind the human-based customization doesn't kick in until you start chatting with the dermatologists in the app once you start using the free trial products and they can evaluate your skin through your photos and acne logs (the app has a whole section for photo tracking your progress with a short little written and multiple-choice survey about your skin's current condition to go with each photo). The free trial is only based on the AI analysis from what I can tell. So just be sure to wait until after the free trial to really make your evaluation of MDAcne service. Also, MDAcne is cheaper than Curology, and you get unlimited chats at any time with support and clinical staff who are dermatologists and nurses on the MDacne app, which is way better than Curology's ticket-based system for consultations (where you only get one question a month and it's usually with a nurse not ever an actual dermatologist- How is that fine tuning your customization?). Also, MDAcne takes great care of their customers, they sent me a free replacement of my active treatment moisturizer when I mentioned the aluminum cover on it was broken. They also have loads of other products available to go with your acne treatment products that people with acne understand are sometimes difficult to find: acne-safe shaving cream, face masks, and sunscreen as well as an acne-safe pink clay mask (which people with acne never get to indulge in without a breakout it seems!). Overall, I have little to report on my skin results as I'm still using the free trial products and my skin is in the middle of the "purging" phase, but the customer service and customization really is the best out there from what I can tell, as long as the active ingredients MDAcne typically draws from are good for your skin- for some people Curology might be better (they don't use salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide I don't believe but MDacne does), so just keep in mind your type of acne. But given the customization and easy access to chat with a dermatologist (sometimes a nurse) at any time (they usually respond to chats within a few hours) and fantastic customer service -Overall, MDAcne seems to so far be the best customized acne treatment service out there.

My MDacne Experience
I heard about MDacne from a TikTok video a few months ago…I have been struggling with sudden breakouts and redness for a few months and decided to try it out! When you first download the app you will do a virtual face examination which will scan your spots and blemishes, also you will fill out a survey about your skin and daily habits, after it will come up with your customised treatment plan. What I love is that your first treatment package comes completely free all you need to pay for is postage!! I have been using MDacne for almost 4 months now and I can already see amazing results! The redness on my face has gone down, when I do have a pimple it’s rarely ever red, big and goes away within a day or two. My face feels much softer and smoother. Another thing I love about MDacne is that there products are vegan and cruelty free packed with lots of beneficial ingredients such as Salcylic Acid and Aloe Vera leaf extract. If you are someone that struggles with acne no matter how severe or mild it is, MDacne is the brand for you!
