Is Proactiv+ formula better than the original Proactiv formula?

No. Proactiv tried to decrease the irritation caused by the original formula by adding sweet almond oil. This oil keeps the benzoyl peroxide on the surface of the skin, significantly reducing its anti-acne efficacy. Once the benzoyl peroxide stays on the surface it does not unclog the pores and does not kill the acne bacteria. Although Proactiv plus is less irritating it’s also less effective than the original product. It seems that at least one of the ingredients, is not change to the better. The Proactiv plus moisturizer, The Complexion Perfecting Hydrator has Ethylhexl palmitate, a palm derived oil, that is one of the know comedogenic (pore clogging) ingredients.
