Multiple studies have shown that dairy products can trigger or worsen breakouts in acne-prone individuals. Milk products—especially cow’s milk—cause a spike in insulin, which in turn may cause more acne breakouts. Good news, is that there are some great dairy alternatives for people with acne prone skin. If you have acne, try switching to products based with almond milk, rice milk, coconut milk, hemp milk (though try to limit intake of soy!).
